I was invited to join Cynthia’s team as her local assist for Genius: Aretha Franklin in Atlanta, Georgia. Taking key learnings form my work on Harriet, I performed an expanded assistant role and took on more responsibility in Cynthia’s daily operations, both personal and professional.

I established working relationships with producers, department heads, ADs etc. to streamline communication and scheduling for production-related affairs. I also served as a conduit of information between Cynthia, production, and Cynthia’s PR and management teams. I worked closely with key players across practices to execute tasks on set, e.g. getting Cynthia to set, through hair, makeup, and wardrobe changes, securing tracks from and coordinating vocal sessions with the music department, and working closely with the ADs/production office to schedule travel, fittings, and rehearsals.
